MORE ACTS ANNOUNCED FOR GUY GARVEY’S MELTDOWN

April 5, 2016

The next wave of acts for Guy Garvey’s Meltdown Fest have been announced, including Richard Hawley, Marika Hackman, The Plumedores (featuring elbow guitarist Mark Potter), NZCA LINES, Tiggs da Author, STEVE, Mano McLaughlin, Kiran Leonard and Jesca Hoop.

In addition, an eclectic programme of free events and activities has been added to the festival. The Bryan Glancy Stage presents free live music from emerging and established artists on the 11th and 18th June and for families, the Meltdown Circus Day on the 12th June is packed with performances and interactive workshops.

“There are so many amazing free events and performances happening during the festival and I’ve tried to make sure that everybody is catered for. I’m particularly looking forward to the Meltdown Circus Day, Snoozetime Storytime and the Evidently Spoken Word Night.

“The Bryan Glancy stage is named after a sadly missed old friend who was a very popular figure in and around the Manchester music scene. He made it his business to bring people together and promote art wherever he could so I thought it would be a fitting name for a free stage that introduces new listeners to their next favourite artist.

“I cannot find the words for how excited I am about the people who have said yes. So many of the best performances are free. It makes Meltdown a very special festival and it will create the loveliest atmosphere. Drop in any time. Even if you’ve only got a lunch hour. You won’t be disappointed.”
